To offer more payment options and onboarding alternatives, we have now integrated Toybite with Mollie. Mollie is a payment service provider with headquarters in the Netherlands.

For sellers

Mollie currently only allows businesses in the EU, Switzerland and the UK to register on their site. Sellers who sell as individuals or from a different country will unfortunately have to wait a while before (if) Mollie becomes available to you as well, but you can continue to use PayPal as usual.

As a seller, you can already go to your shop's payment profile and connect to Mollie. After you have connected, you can choose which payment methods you offer your customers at checkout.

Some popular payment methods are Klarna, Trustly, iDEAL, blik and TWINT.

It is not a requirement to connect to Mollie, you as a seller can choose whether you want to use PayPal, Mollie or both.

Fees and refunds

Just like PayPal, Mollie charges a transaction fee for each purchase, which varies depending on the payment method. Current Mollie fees can be found on Mollie's fees page.

Due to the way Mollie's API works, Toybite cannot refund the collected platform fee or platform VAT/taxes to you as a seller when you refund a customer (for an order paid through Mollie). If you as a seller make a refund to a customer, we will not refund the platform fee in cash, but you will instead receive the corresponding part of the platform fee and VAT/tax as a credit to your seller account. The credit amount is saved in your account and is automatically used to pay future platform fees when you receive new orders. This means that you pay less (or nothing at all) in platform fees on future sales until the credit amount is used up.

Refunds of platform fees made for orders paid through PayPal will be refunded directly to your PayPal account as usual.
